How do I check for new episodes and chapters?

Click Update library in Library or Updates, or press F5 in the Library to update the category you are viewing. New episodes and chapters show in Updates.

Can Kurobayomi check by itself?

Yes. Open Settings → Library → Global update and choose Automatic updates: every 12 hours, daily, every 2 days, every 3 days or weekly. The first automatic update runs as soon as it can after you turn it on.

Kurobayomi has no background service. Automatic updates, backups and downloads only run while the app is open.

Can new episodes download by themselves?

Yes. In Settings → Downloads and storage → Auto-download, turn on Download new episodes or Download new chapters.

What is Upcoming?

Upcoming, in the menu of the Updates page, is a calendar of when titles in your library are expected to get their next episode or chapter. Kurobayomi guesses the date from when earlier ones came out.

Why is a title missing from Upcoming?

A title shows in Upcoming only when all of this is true:

• It is in your Library.
• Its status is Ongoing or Publishing finished (for anime also Upcoming). Completed, cancelled, on-hiatus and unknown titles are left out.
• Kurobayomi has a predicted date for it. A title needs a few updates before a date can be guessed.
• The predicted date is today or later.

The date is a guess, not a schedule from the source.
