Library

How do I add a title to my library?

Open the title and click Add to library. If you have categories, Kurobayomi asks which ones, unless you set a Default anime category or Default manga category in Settings → Library.

How do I sort or filter my library?

Click View options in the Library's top bar. It has four parts:

  • Show only: Downloaded, Unread or Unwatched, Completed, and Tracked (when you are signed in to a tracker).
  • Sort by: Alphabetically, Last read or Last seen, Last update, Unread or Unseen count, Latest chapter or episode, Date added, and Tracker score (when you are signed in to a tracker).
  • View: Grid or List.
  • Grid style: Compact, Comfortable or Cover only.

How do I put titles in tabs?

With categories. See Categories.

How do I select several titles?

Press and hold a cover, or Ctrl+click it. Shift+click selects a range, Ctrl+A selects all and Ctrl+I inverts the selection. Esc clears it.

You can also drag from an empty spot between the covers: every cover the box touches is selected. Hold Ctrl when you start the drag to keep what is already selected. Only the covers on screen are selected; the page does not scroll while you drag.

The same works in Browse, where the bar at the bottom offers Add to library for the selected titles that are not in your library yet (you are asked for the categories once, for all of them) and Set categories for those that are.

Why am I warned about large updates and downloads?

Sources are websites run by other people. When the app asks one site for many titles at once, the site slows down for everyone and may block you. Kurobayomi shows a warning when one source has more than 60 titles in a single library update or download.

To keep updates small:

  • Remove titles you no longer follow from your library.
  • Update one category at a time: open it and press F5.
  • Use a longer interval for Automatic updates.
  • Spread your library over several sources where you can.

Why did a title not update?

To spare the sources, a library update skips titles whose source is turned off, and titles that:

  • are completed,
  • you have not started,
  • still have unread chapters or unwatched episodes,
  • are not expected to have a new one yet.

If a title failed, the notice "N update(s) failed" opens the error log. See Library update errors.
